About the Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization

The Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization (IBRO) is dedicated to the investigation, documentation, and preservation of Bigfoot and Sasquatch reports throughout Indiana. IBRO works with eyewitnesses to document their experiences, investigate reported activity, and preserve Indiana’s historical and current Bigfoot reports for future research.

Our History

The Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization (IBRO) was founded in 2005 by Steve Abney with the purpose of investigating, documenting, and preserving reports of Bigfoot activity throughout Indiana.

In 2014, LeRoy Nail took over leadership of the organization. Working alongside a dedicated group of core IBRO members, LeRoy helped expand the organization’s research efforts, build a growing community of followers, and provide a place where eyewitnesses could share their experiences.

As interest in Bigfoot research continued to grow, LeRoy and the IBRO team established the Indiana Bigfoot Conference, bringing together researchers, speakers, enthusiasts, and members of the public to share information, experiences, and research.

Continuing their commitment to public education and awareness, LeRoy and his wife, Nancy, opened the Indiana Bigfoot Center in Nashville, Indiana. The center provides an opportunity to share information about Bigfoot research, introduce visitors to the work of IBRO, and hear new eyewitness accounts from people throughout Indiana and beyond.

Today, IBRO continues its mission of investigating reported Bigfoot activity, preserving eyewitness accounts, and encouraging respectful discussion and research into one of Indiana’s most intriguing mysteries.

What We Do

IBRO investigates and documents reported Bigfoot activity throughout Indiana. Our work includes interviewing eyewitnesses, reviewing photographs and other potential evidence, conducting field investigations, researching locations of reported activity, and preserving reports for future study. We approach each report with respect for the witness and make protecting personal and property information a priority.

Witness and Property Privacy

Personal and property privacy is our highest priority.

The Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization (IBRO) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who report possible Bigfoot encounters, as well as the property owners where reported activity occurs.

We understand that witnesses may be reluctant to share their experiences because of concerns about ridicule, unwanted attention, or trespassing on private property.

IBRO respects the confidentiality of witnesses and will not publicly disclose personal identifying information or specific private-property locations without permission.

Our goal is to provide a respectful and trustworthy environment where individuals feel comfortable sharing their experiences while helping preserve Indiana’s Bigfoot research history.

Report a Bigfoot Sighting

If you have experienced a possible Bigfoot sighting or other unexplained activity in Indiana, we encourage you to submit a report. Your information will help IBRO document and preserve reports of Bigfoot activity throughout the state.

Our Mission

Our mission is to responsibly investigate, document, and preserve reports of possible Bigfoot activity in Indiana while treating every witness with respect. IBRO seeks to encourage open-minded research, preserve Indiana’s eyewitness accounts, and provide information that can contribute to a better understanding of this unexplained phenomenon.
